چکیده

Methods Consecutive case control pilot study, with radiological results in coronal and sagittal curves, and scores for overall-satisfaction with TLI after one year of wearing. 91 consecutive children with scoliotic ( one curve >25o) and kyphotic spinal deformities during growth, wearing a lordotic brace at least a full year. Measurements of Cobb angles on AP and sagittal standing X-ray’s were compared at indication time, first-in brace day, and out of brace after a full year. A questionnaire was filled in with scores for satisfaction.

Biological background and biomechanical support explain similar effect in treatment of scoliosis and kyphosis with TLI bracing

Opening the black box on morphogenesis: the work of Milan Roth The work of Milan Roth was rediscovered 1. In his concepts of the “Nervous Skeleton” an important science on neurovertebral and neuro-osseous growth relations and the tension induced possibility of incongruence of growth show that a “short cord” can indeed cause scoliosis. Recent studies with MRI confirm much of this. Growth (muscul...

Scientific evidence reveals conjoined etiology in spinal deformation and the need for etiology based treatment. Insight in a trail

Opening black box and the holistic concept of Milan Roth In experiments on the “Nervous Skeleton” and its way of growth Roth offered science on neurovertebral and neuro-osseous growth relations ,with tensionforces. Recent studies with MRI in idiopathic scoliosis confirm much of this11. If there is increased tension in the CNS, there must be increased contraction in muscles too, if their energy ...

Effect of a Long-Term Corrective Exercises With Using Brace on Cobb Angle and Postural Control of a Girl With Adolescence Idiopathic Scoliosis

Purpose: Scoliosis is a three-dimensional deformity of the spine in which the resulting imbalance accompanied by the changes in muscle and nervous components can harm the postural control. Various treatments have been suggested so far to correct scoliosis, in which using corrective exercises along with brace are essential to limit the growing curvature, improve spine stability and postural cont...

Bracing for Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS) and Scheuermann Kyphosis: the issue of overtreatment in Greece

BACKGROUND Most recent publications have provided evidence for brace treatment in spinal deformities. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the rate of overtreatment for AIS and Kyphosis in Greece, according to the Society on Scoliosis Orthopedic Rehabilitation Treatment (SOSORT) and the Scoliosis Research Society (SRS) guidelines for brace treatment. To date, this is the first study to inv...
